Russell Sweet is a woodwind doubler in St. Paul and Minneapolis, Minnesota available to perform or teach lessons on saxophone, flute or clarinet.

Bio

Russell Sweet holds a Master of Music in Multiple Woodwinds performance from the University of Oregon where he studied saxophone with Dr. Idit Shner, flute with Dr. Jacqueline Cordova-Arrington, and clarinet with Dr. Wonkak Kim. At the University of Oregon, He was the saxophone graduate employee, teaching lessons to undergraduates, coaching saxophone quartets, and teaching the saxophone techniques class. He was in numerous ensembles including the UO symphony orchestra, wind ensemble, jazz band, and saxophone quartet. He also holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities where he studied saxophone performance under Dr. Preston Duncan. He got 2nd place at the Thursday Musical Competition (2020), won the UMN Bands Concerto Competition (2019), won 1st place at the Schubert Club Scholarship Competition in the high school division (2016) and the college division (2019), made it to the MTNA National Finals (2017) and got 2nd place at the Minnesota State Fair Talent Contest (2018).
