Bio

Russell Sweet is a woodwind performer and educator based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. He specializes in classical and jazz saxophone, flute, and clarinet. He holds a Master of Music in Multiple Woodwinds Performance from the University of Oregon where he studied with Dr. Idit Shner, Dr. Jacqueline Cordova‑Arrington, and Dr. Wonkak Kim. At the University of Oregon, he served as the saxophone graduate employee, teaching private lessons, coaching chamber ensembles, and leading the saxophone techniques class. He also holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Minnesota, where he studied saxophone performance with Dr. Preston Duncan. Russell now teaches private lessons and performs with jazz bands, chamber ensembles, and pit orchestras throughout the Twin Cities.
